Three homes, two generations, one big MLH family
Our reputation for being a multi-generational family home builder has taken on a new meaning with construction now underway on a third MLH home for members of the same family!
We are currently building Carol Finn’s new custom home at Harris Crossing, after also building homes for Carol’s daughter Renee and her family, as well as her niece Deanna and her partner Kyle.

Mrs Finn said when she decided to downsize to a single-level home there was only one choice of builder for her.
“I’ve got a big double-storey house and I’m the only person that lives there so I definitely had to downsize and at least get to one level,” she said.
“I’d seen the results Martin and his team had achieved with other homes for members of my own family, so I knew I’d be in good hands.
“I just know I can trust Martin and the team and I don’t have to worry at all. You simply let them know what you’re after, they help you to get it down on paper and then you can just sit back, wait and watch it all happen.”
Carol's custom home
At Martin Locke Homes we're proud to be a leading advocate for multigenerational living as well as minimum accessible design features in residential construction.
WHAT ARE ACCESSIBLE LIVING FEATURES?
- step-free designs as standard
- wider halls and doors,
- larger step-free showers with tiled shower seats
- no-step entry from the street, throughout the home and out to the alfresco area
- additional framing noggins for fitting future hand rails if required.
“This home is going to make such a difference for me,” Carol said.
“I’ve fractured my back and I’ve got a weak knee too so this will be just perfect, I’ll be able to get around and be normal.”
MLH Managing Director Martin Locke said having clients recommend his team to their own family members was a great sign they were doing something right.
“We always say that you don’t become a Martin Locke Homes client, you become part of the MLH Family, but this takes it to the next level,” Mr Locke said.
“Over almost 10 years that we’ve been building homes, we’re proud to say the majority of our clients have come via referrals from those we have built for before which is fantastic and we’re so appreciative of that.
“Our team loves to build homes that make a difference in people’s lives and it’s great to know that our accessible, step-free design will help Carol live in comfort and safety in her next stage of life.”
