MLH puts stake in the ground at Elliot Springs

18 September 2018

Leading North Queensland Builder Martin Locke Homes (MLH) has put a serious stake in the ground at Lendlease’s new Townsville residential development Elliot Springs.

MLH has handpicked and purchased seven blocks in the early land release at Elliot Springs, which they will now make available exclusively to their clients.

“We see Elliot Springs as a key development for Townsville with an inclusive community vision which is in line with our focus on increasing accessible housing options,” MLH Managing Director Martin Locke said.

“We wanted to secure some of the best blocks for our clients and this is a significant investment for us which demonstrates the confidence and belief we have in the project.

“Lendlease has a great track record with its previous Townsville developments in Willow Gardens and Riverside Gardens, but it wasn’t until the first time I visited the site myself that Elliot Springs’ potential truly stuck me.”

Martin Locke Homes has purchased four neighbouring lots on Observation Rise and three more on Creekside Parade – just across the road from neighbours Billy and Kate who have entrusted MLH to build their first home.

“It’s exciting to be the first MLH clients to build in Elliot Springs – it’s a bit of a dream come true,” Kate said.

“Ever since we visited the Martin Locke Homes display home and saw their house designs we fell in love and it was an added bonus that they have the inclusive design aspects built in.

“It’s great to know at least three of our neighbours will be MLH homes as well, heaven forbit we ever have to sell we think it will help our street value and it’s always nice to have nice homes around yours and hopefully that brings nice people,” she said.

“It will be a mini MLH community.”

Construction is also underway on the Martin Locke Homes display home, increasing the builder’s display home locations to three for the first time in the company’s history.

Lendlease Regional Development Manager for Elliot Springs, Simon Walker said he was pleased to see such a confident investment in the Elliot Springs Community by a prominent local builder.

“We believe wholeheartedly in our product, our plans and our long-term vision for the Elliot Springs community and it’s fantastic to see a key builder partner sharing that vision,” Mr Walker said.
